A Review of: HeartStopper Vol 1

Initially viewed on an online webcomic called Tapas, HeartStopper has a vast online fanbase of over 50 million views, not counting the numerous new fans who are relishing in the new Netflix adaptation of the series, all from the power of crowdfunding. I will write up individual posts for each volume, so stay tuned for Vols 2-4! Spoilers are ahead, so if you haven’t read the books, go away and do so before returning.

Here we shall see two stories, individual but united about potential unrequited love, hard work, and determination, so let’s dig in!

A Review of: The Big Power of Tiny Connections; How Small Interactions Spark Awesome Outcomes

This is my very first review of a non-fiction piece of work that focuses on self-help, specifically: empowering oneself and making positive connections in their work as well as in daily life. I received a free audiobook for review, so please, take a seat as we delve into the nuances of this interesting book. Written by Jen Nash, a trained public speaker and professional specialising in life coaching and consultancy for companies and published by Big Shift Press in July 2022.

A Review of: Suspension – A Novel

Rating: 9 out of 10.

***Potential Trigger Warning – discussion of death and suicide***

Suspension is a modern fantasy novel that indulges in a magical, yet ghostly storyline that I would imagine many readers would enjoy. Fresh off the press as of the 30th June 2022 and written by Andrea Faye Christians, a new author on the scene, this novel is her literary debut that explores the unknown mysteries that death holds. Having fascinated people across the globe for centuries, death is still a completely unknown adventure, which Christians creates in this well-written contemporary fantasy.

A Review of: Spirit Sight, Last of the Gifted; Book One

Rating: 8 out of 10.

Spirit Sight is an epic fantasy novel in the series Last of the Gifted that was released in 2020 set in the medieval era in the heart of Wales in Britain. The author, Marie Powell, is a knowledgeable and passionate author, specialising in phonics books for children in early years and middle-grade. So the leap to Young Adult writing with such rich history is amazing, as she has done mountains of research for the story, surrounding how Wales might have been like at that time.

Review of: Aces High, Jokers Wild Series; Books 1-3

Rating: 10 out of 10.

Firstly, I would like to begin this review with deep gratitude to the authors of this book series for letting me into their world and inviting me to listen to their audiobook collection of Aces High, Jokers Wild Books 1-3. Also, thanks for their patience in waiting for me to release this review and their interview, as it has waited a couple of months while I move house and begin renovations, as I wanted to be able to give as much time as I could to do this series justice! Now that things have come to some semblance of normalcy, let’s get on with another book review for this series.
